Time for walks in the park with a wagon. What are you gonna put in the wagon? Puppies? Pumpkins? Children? Dried corn?
Normally I'd scream overkill at a cake this busy but there is some amazing balance going on here. A striped rainbow heart inside a striped rainbow cake? A rainbow of fondant sprinkles so perfect they must have been placed there by very patient elves? I swoon for this kind of overkill.
The real smart move here is the donut hole acting like a melted ice cream cone on top of the cupcake. Sure, on hot summer days it would be nice to have something cold and refreshing, but if you were presented with one of these, wouldn't you be pleasantly surprised to bite into a lump of awesome donut?
Brownies are pretty exciting on their own, then you put them on a stick and everybody gets all jazzed, then you dip them in colored candy and it gets kind of swoony in here and THEN you come out with all sorts of sprinkles and I'm pretty certain we've lost several to a case of the vapors.
This taps right into that toddler part of the brain where you want to pick up a whole pie and smash your face into it. Taking a big ol' spoon and jamming it into a jar of cake and frosting and having no regard for the mess you're inevitably going to make sounds so childishly satisfying. Where's my big spoon?
There has been some pretty severe snowy weather all over the country lately, let's take advantage of it! Have you ever made your own ice cream out of the snow in your own yard? I haven't, but I'm hoping we get another dumping of powder at some point so I can try my hand at this nearly instant, customizable snack. Talk about being seasonal, this is one of the most ecological dishes I've ever seen!
