I LOVE beets! Sadly, last time I was peeling some in preparation for roasting, my hand swelled up super huge and scarylike and I had to take a Benadryl and fell asleep and then I was afraid to ever eat beets again because if that's what happens to the outside of my body, imagine the inside of my throat! Terrifying. So now I can only lust after beets from afar. Love you beets!

So much cupcake decorating is based on the notion of piling heaps of stuff on top of the cake, it's refreshing to see someone make use of negative space here, so to speak. A creamy pool of frosting in the middle of the cake is a nice change!

Food made with love is the best tasting food. It can't hurt to also have a heart-shaped utensil in there for good measure.

Normally I'd scream overkill at a cake this busy but there is some amazing balance going on here. A striped rainbow heart inside a striped rainbow cake? A rainbow of fondant sprinkles so perfect they must have been placed there by very patient elves? I swoon for this kind of overkill.

Until cats can talk, this will have to do.

Oh man is there a lot going on here. Those cupcakes alone look light and moist and delightful and then you go and pile on some pretty, fluffy, buttery icing mmmmmmm. And THEN you make little heart cookies and you ice them BUT you use MORE icing to make them all fancy and swirly and amazing. Then you PUT IT ON THE CUPCAKE! I'm so exhausted. I can't eat. I need a nap.

Someday, you're going to need to remember what you wrote, and you'll have to break your heart to get there.

Love is all you need to keep the boogeyman at bay.

I like the age-old motif of hearts and keys. It never goes out of style and always seems so genuine and proper. I also like gags involving swallowing a key like in "Arrested Development" so with these cupcakes I'm all set.

The way to pretty much anyone's heart is through the stomach. Sweeten it up with a simple heart and you've got a lifelong bond.

Finally, an elephant in the room everyone wants to talk about!
