I've been feeling honey lately. Honey on my yogurt, honey in my tea, honey in my cupcakes. Thanks bees!
My cherry trees are blooming out front and brightening things up pretty nicely even though the blooms are weighed down with rain and drooping toward the sidewalk. It's nice to have something other than dark branches to look at while I walk around the city. These cupcakes probably taste the way the cherry blossoms make me feel.
As an American, I'm not super familiar with the traditional high tea ritual. Once for a bachelorette party I had tea at the Bellagio with a bunch of fancy ladies. We had champagne and lots of tiny delicious foods. This cake would have been a gaudy yet not unwelcome addition.
I have a confession to make, guys. I LOVE cherry flavoring. Artificial, natural, actual cherries, maraschino cherries, brandied cherries, cherry Jolly Ranchers, I can't get enough! Also gummy cola bottles are one of my most favorite candies! These cupcakes belong to me, is what I'm saying. They are mine. I wants.
