I'm sure we've all dreamed from time to time about having a tasty treat so large that we could essentially live on it. I'd like to think that I'd have enough restraint to not eat until comatose. Oh who am I kidding? I'd end up flat on my back like Homer there in about ten minutes.
There has been some pretty severe snowy weather all over the country lately, let's take advantage of it! Have you ever made your own ice cream out of the snow in your own yard? I haven't, but I'm hoping we get another dumping of powder at some point so I can try my hand at this nearly instant, customizable snack. Talk about being seasonal, this is one of the most ecological dishes I've ever seen!
This taps right into that toddler part of the brain where you want to pick up a whole pie and smash your face into it. Taking a big ol' spoon and jamming it into a jar of cake and frosting and having no regard for the mess you're inevitably going to make sounds so childishly satisfying. Where's my big spoon?
Not quite cake balls, not cookies, not exactly truffles... it's really the best of all three! The irresistible taste of cake batter, the texture of cookie dough, and the coating of a truffle. Also, breakfast cereal. Ooh, a bowl of these with milk would make a great breakfast, right?
Do you like crunchy cake? Because think about it, if you put enough sprinkles on something it adds a whole lot of crunch texture. I love the creaminess of the frosting, I wonder how the crunch adds to or detracts from the experience?
