I love it when a cute baked good can have a good laugh at its own expense.

Why oh why does marzipan have to taste like marzipan? It's so lovely to look at and you can make such adorable little things with it. I just wish it tasted like, well, anything other than it does. Every Christmas my great aunt Mary used to bring over a plate of amazing handmade marzipan fruits and ever year I would try one thinking maybe, just maybe, this time it wouldn't taste like THAT. But it did. And it does.

I'm all about the cool nori punch things that you can use to make really cool eyes for little piggies and stuff in bento lunches, but I have to applaud the simplicity of using sesame seeds on their own for eyes. Super well done!

This cake is not kidding with it's carrotness. Carrotosity? Self reference? I mean come on, there are real carrot greens going on. You have to respect that.
