In an interview with VH1, Matt Smith revealed he may be leaving "Doctor Who" as early as next year to move to Los Angeles. Nothing is officially confirmed, but he is definitely thinking about his post-doctor career.
"I've got another year of Doctor Who, but then I'm certainly going to come and give it a shot – come and hang out in LA… as you say, people like Andy [Garfield] have come over, and he's a mate of mine. I'm very proud to see him doing Spider-Man, 'cause we did a play together, and, you know, Spider-Man now. It's incredible. And he'll be brilliant, he'll be so brilliant."
Though a new Doctor is always exciting, this would be the eleventh regeneration. He's only got one more. Could the series be approaching its end?
Steven Moffat announced that, while we will see Amy and Rory during the upcoming seventh season, their story will come to a "heartbreaking end." Matt Smith says he will miss Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan, but "the great thing about 'Doctor Who' is its ability to change."
Moffat says the doctor will be getting a new companion, but is giving no details about "he, she or it."
