The BBC confirmed today that the Doctor will be regenerating during this year's Christmas special, which means, for better or worse, no more Matt Smith (and probably no more cool bowties). Are you sad to see him go? Who do you want to see as the new Doctor?
Dutch documentary The Making of the Empire Strikes Back never saw a commercial release but contains a fascinating and rare glimpse behind the scenes of the beloved film. The language quickly switches to English, which is convenient, but you'll have to bear with the shoddy quality (it's worth it). Part Two is here.
George Lucas is just trolling us now, right? If the completely unnecessary 3D re-release of "The Phantom Menace" wasn't enough to make your blood boil today, Lucas has another trick up his sleeve. He is now claiming that not only did Greedo shoot first, he always shot first and anyone who disagrees is just confused. That's right. If you watch the above video and see Han shooting first, you're just plain wrong now.
"It's a movie, just a movie," said Lucas. The controversy over who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo, in Episode IV, what I did was try to clean up the confusion, but obviously it upset people because they wanted Solo to be a cold-blooded killer, but he actually isn't. It had been done in all close-ups and it was confusing about who did what to whom. I put a little wider shot in there that made it clear that Greedo is the one who shot first, but everyone wanted to think that Han shot first, because they wanted to think that he actually just gunned him down."
Really George? You really want to open this can of worms again?
