I've seen queen-size mattresses transported on the New York City subway, so it seemed natural to transport my wedding dress that way too!
Lucky gal Yin Mi was presented with a dress made from 9,999 roses by her beau Xiao Fan in honor of their engagement. The word for "nine" is auspicious in Chinese because it sounds the same as the word for "forever." This is great and all, but being the OCD person that I am I would probably chuck one more rose at her just to hit 10,000.
Because it's never been done before, Chinese bride Li Kuo wore a 110-pound wedding dress with a 520-meter-long (1,700 feet) train to her wedding in Beijing. She chose the number 520 because the numbers 5-2-0 are pronounced the same as "I love you" in the local dialect.
Might be just me, but seeing these long wedding trains always calls to mind a yard freshly toilet-papered by the neighborhood kids. Which is just about the least romantic thing in existence...
