LOLDuffer says: "My parents in the living room of the pastor who married them. They eloped to Longview, WA in 1961. My Grandmother made the dress, and I plan to wear it for my 25th wedding anniversary in two years."

This is my great-grandfather (Piotr) and great-grandmother's (Magdelena) wedding. They were married in 1907, less 4 years after they immigrated to America from Poland.

My grandfather was 17 when he joined the Navy as a nurse and was put on a ship during WWII. I was always told that my grandmother waited for him while he was overseas. They were together until he died in '98, and she followed just a few years later. This is my favorite wedding photo of them. I think my grandmother is just gorgeous.

Good idea on getting married before he sailed off. Walking down the aisle when you haven't got your land legs back would be no fun, after all. Thanks for sharing your grandparent's story!
