My grandmother and I were married on the same date. Since she passed away and could not attend, we had her picture at the altar.

This is my favorite wedding picture of my Grand Parents Phylis and George. Gramma was definitely a "Flapper" - but was Grampa a "Gangsta"?

Grandpa also apparently had Transitions Lenses before they were even invented! Amazing!

Dad was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Corps of Engineers. Mom & Dad got married at Ft. Lewis Washington after the war, and his men decorated this earth mover as their "carriage" from the chapel to the reception. This is a colorized black and white, and I especially like how they drew in a rainbow in the background.

Uh oh, we've got a bewitching on our hands. I can tell by the scenarios and from seeing quite a few bewitchings in my day.

This is a picture of my grandparents' wedding in 1949. Although they have been divorced for nearly 40 years, they both died in 2011, only a half year apart.

Thank you for sharing this story and great photo with us! At the risk of sounding irreverent, I'm pretty sure I know what your grandfather was thinking when this photo was taken.

Although the marriages of Mad Men may not last, this Mad Men inspired wedding is vintage, classy, and timely. That DRESS! That SKINNY TIE! Pinch me, it must be 1964.
