The late comedy great, Richard Pryor, was groundbreaking in his ability to push the envelop and redefine the industry for many comedians after him. He was known for his ability to bring to light social challenges in a humorous but thought-provoking way.
The Richard Pryor Special aired in 1977 and was a ratings and critical success. In one particular sketch, Maya Angelou gave a chilling performance along side Pryor that displays her keen ability to convey the human spirit in a truly moving way.
