I hope those snowflakes are edible. They look like they'd be a real chore to choke down.
Do you like crunchy cake? Because think about it, if you put enough sprinkles on something it adds a whole lot of crunch texture. I love the creaminess of the frosting, I wonder how the crunch adds to or detracts from the experience?
I don't think you can make an actual, normal cupcake with booze in it, so this is a perfect variation. With all the new cupcake and whipped cream flavored vodkas on the market now you can make all sorts of boozy faux baked goods. This is the kind of baking I can get behind.
When I was a kid my mom had a cookbook all about how to make creative cakes with nothing but a round cake pan, a bundt pan and a square pan. She made caterpillars and castles and Snoopy and all sorts of amazing creations but I don't think I ever saw a donut. It's so simple it just slipped under the radar.
