In a post on her facebook page, Anne Rice had some choice words about Stephenie Meyer's portrayal of vampires.
"Lestat and Louie feel sorry for vampires that sparkle in the sun. They would never hurt immortals who choose to spend eternity going to high school over and over again in a small town—anymore than they would hurt the physically disabled or the mentally challenged. My vampires possess gravitas. They can afford to be merciful."
As you can imagine, this pissed off a lot of twilight fans
With the "Twilight" series of movies drawing to a close, I guess the studios needed to find some way to keep that money flowing in. Here's the first trailer for the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's other book, "The Host," about an alien parasite who falls in love. Of course it does.
Am I wrong in thinking this can't possibly be anything but terrible? Has anyone read this book? It at least can't be as bad as "Twilight." Right?
