"Cabin in the Woods" is an upcoming sci-fi horror film produced and co-written by Joss Whedon, and directed by Drew Goddard. The movie was originally scheduled to be released nearly two years ago. MGM dropped it due to financial dificulties, and Lionsgate picked up the film earlier this year. What's cool about this is it means we get to see pre-"Thor" Chris Hemsworth.

After wrapping production on "The Avengers," Joss Whedon took twelve days to shoot a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing." No word one what, if anything, is changed from the original script. It will be the first film produced by Whedon's micro-studio Bellwether Pictures.

"The film features a stellar cast of beloved (or soon to be beloved) actors – some of them veterans of Shakespearean theater, some completely new to the form. But all dedicated to the idea that this story bears retelling, that this dialogue is as fresh and intoxicating as any being written, and that the joy of working on a passion project surrounded by dear friends, admired colleagues and an atmosphere of unabashed rapture far outweighs their hilariously miniature paychecks," says the press release.

The movie stars almost everyone we've come to expect from a Whedon production: Amy Acker, Nathan Fillion, Sean Maher, and Alexis Denisof.

"The text is to me a deconstruction of the idea of love," says Whedon, "which is ironic, since the entire production is a love letter – to the text, to the cast, even to the house it's shot in."
