It's like he's apologizing for the quality of the cover art. "Wait, wait! Please just stick around, I promise it's much better than this cover implies. In fact, I'm pretty sure whatever the hell's going on here isn't even in the book."
While the script has some problems, Prometheus more than makes up for them with brilliant acting, beautiful direction and extraordinarily tense and terrifying moments. Even the 3D worked perfectly and was never distracting or disorienting. As someone who is generally tired of 3D, it's nice to see a movie come along that does it well.
