Seven-year-old Matthew Grammer has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. One year ago, he told the Make-a-Wish Foundation he wanted to be R2D2. The foundation commissioned Little Mountain Productions of Tulsa Okla. to build him a large driveable version of the droid.

This week, at a pep rally at Bishop Kelley High School, Matthew got to drive the robot around the gym floor, defeating Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and a few stormtroopers in a skit put on by the senior class.

"He just jumped in it and took off driving in it like he'd done it before," said his mother.

Matthew undergoes what his family hopes will be his last chemotherapy treatment next month.
