Part of his decision also comes from his frustration with the way studios were treating his new movie, "Red Tails," about the all black Tuskegee Airmen squad in World War II. One Hollywood executive didn't even show up for the movie's screening.
"Isn't this their job? Isn't their job at least to see movies?" he said. "I'm retiring. I'm moving away from the business, from the company, from all this kind of stuff."
Lucas says he will still make smaller, more personal films.
One of the best things about San Diego Comic-Con is all the cool toys on display, many of which you can't see anywhere else. For example, this Barack Obama Jedi action figure. Mace Windu might have something to say about that lightsaber, though.
