Opposition Leader Tony Abbott accused House of Representatives Speaker Peter Slipper of misogyny. Prime Minister Julia Gillard took the opportunity to point out exactly why Abbot is the last person in the Australian government who should be talking about sexism.

Subliminal Messaging in Australian Campaign Ad

It's nice to be reminded that campaigns get dirty all over the world. A TV ad for Austrailia's Country Liberal Party briefly showed this image containing an insult to Labor Party Chief Minister Paul Henderson cleverly hidden in the eye chart. "HENDO IS A JERK OFF GET RID OF HIM."

As Pundit Kitchen is located in the United States, I can't say one way or another whether Henderson is in fact a jerk off. (Any Australians want to help me out here?) I can say that the County Liberal Party has now removed the line from the ad and suggested Henderson "should now make a similar commitment to end their scaremongering campaign which is based on lies and deception."

Dramatic footage of Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott being rushed to safety after protesters attempted to storm the restaurant where they were attending an Australia Day ceremony. The mob was angry at earlier remarks by Abbott in which he told a 40 year-old Aboriginal tent city it was "time to move on." Gillard lost her shoe while running for the getaway car, which the protesters collected as a trophy from the day.

Australia Transport Minister Anthony Albanese must get as teary-eyed as I do when he watches 1995's The American President. Because he apparently wanted to show his appreciation for actor Michael Douglas' moving climactic speech from the film by lifting it to attack opposition leader Tony Abbot. Albanese even owned up to his man-crush-mistake later on Twitter. In all honesty, if I were Tony Abbott I would feel honored. It's not every day that somebody wants to put you in your place Michael Douglas style.

Warning: F-bomb.

Let's keep this F-train a rollin'! Australian Communications Minister Stephen Conroy let one slip on television right before a children's television program was set to air yesterday. What's more is that he's a champion of strict internet censorship policies in the Land Down Under. Hey Stephen! Censor yourself first!
